ReSound Sensia is GN's new 2026 AI flagship, replacing Vivia. Its headline is hearing that adjusts itself — an automatic classifier, a four-microphone 'face who you want to hear' beam, and AI noise reduction that switches on by itself. Here is what it does, who it suits, and what to expect in India.
ReSound Sensia is GN's new premium AI hearing aid, announced in August 2026 and now reaching markets worldwide, including India over the following months. It replaces the ReSound Vivia and is built on a new AI platform.
The headline idea is hearing that manages itself: an 'Intelligent All-Around' system that reads your surroundings, points a listening beam at whoever you face, and switches on AI noise reduction automatically — with no program-fiddling from you. Choose it if you want natural, automatic, all-around hearing and strong group-conversation performance, with full Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio built in from launch.
What is ReSound Sensia?
Sensia is the flagship of ReSound's 2026 range and the successor to the Vivia line introduced in early 2025. GN positions it as a premium AI aid, and markets its smallest rechargeable style as the world's smallest AI hearing aid. It is the ReSound model our audiologists expect to recommend most to people who want the brand's signature natural sound with the latest processing.
How Sensia's 'Intelligent All-Around' works
The selling point is that three systems work together, automatically, so you are not switching programs in a noisy room.
- AcoustIQ continuously reads your sound environment and decides which features to switch on and when — the aim is that you simply wear it and it adapts, rather than managing settings yourself.
- A four-microphone directional beamformer creates a forward-facing listening beam, so turning to face the person you want to hear helps lift their voice forward out of the background.
- Automatic deep-neural-network (DNN) noise reduction lowers competing chatter and noise around the person you are focused on, and turns itself on instead of waiting for you to pick a program. GN claims this denoising is far more power-efficient than rival AI approaches.
If you want the plain-English case for why this kind of on-device AI helps in noise, see do AI hearing aids actually work better.
Technology levels: 9, 7, 5 and 4
Like most premium families, Sensia comes in tiers, and the tier is the main price lever. The biggest practical difference is how the AI noise reduction behaves.
| Tier | Who it's aimed at | AI noise reduction |
|---|---|---|
| Sensia 9 | Busiest lives, most time in noise | Automatic, always-on DNN denoising |
| Sensia 7 | Active, regular social settings | DNN denoising via a selectable program |
| Sensia 5 | Moderate, everyday use | Essential processing |
| Sensia 4 | Quieter lifestyles, tighter budgets | Core processing |
As always, the right level is the one that matches how noisy your real life is — not simply the top one. Our guide to choosing the right hearing aid walks through that call.
Battery, styles and durability
The rechargeable microRIE style gives around 24 hours of typical use including some streaming, and up to roughly 30 hours without streaming — comfortably all-day even with the automatic denoising running. Sensia comes in a wide range of styles: the small rechargeable microRIE, size 312 and size 13 battery RIEs, rechargeable in-the-canal and in-the-ear customs, a non-wireless CIC, CROS/BiCROS for single-sided loss, and bimodal versions that pair with Cochlear Nucleus implant processors. The lineup carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, with a protective nanocoating.
Connectivity: LE Audio and Auracast from launch
Sensia streams directly from compatible iPhones, iPads and Android phones over Bluetooth LE Audio, and supports the older Made-for-iPhone and Android (ASHA) standards too. Crucially, its full Auracast support is active at launch rather than promised for later — across the RIE and wireless custom styles, with the non-wireless CIC the exception.
Be realistic about Auracast in India, though: the hardware is ready, but there are almost no venues broadcasting into it here yet, as we explain in our Auracast in India guide. It is future-proofing, not a daily feature — today.
Who is ReSound Sensia for?
- People who want hearing that adjusts itself automatically, without switching programs in every new room.
- Those whose hardest moments are group conversations and noisy social settings.
- Fans of ReSound's natural, open sound who want it with the latest AI processing.
- Cochlear implant users who need a bimodal solution that works with a Nucleus processor.
Do you need to upgrade from Vivia or Nexia?
Not necessarily. If you already wear a recent ReSound Vivia or Nexia and it is fitted well and serving you, Sensia is an evolution, not a reason to replace working aids. The honest case for Sensia is strongest if you are buying new, coming from older technology, or struggling specifically in noise, where its automatic DNN denoising earns its place. If you are weighing up the ReSound range, our ReSound line-up compared explains where each model sits.

Frequently asked questions
Is ReSound Sensia available in India?
Sensia launched globally in August 2026 and is reaching India over the following months, as ReSound's platforms usually do after a global launch. Availability and India MRP change, so rather than quote a figure that goes stale we confirm the current model and price at your appointment or on WhatsApp. Hearing aids are GST-exempt in India, with up to 20-30% off MRP and 0% EMI at Prudent.
What is new in ReSound Sensia compared with Vivia?
Sensia is built on a new AI platform and succeeds the Vivia line from early 2025. Its headline is 'Intelligent All-Around': an AcoustIQ classifier that adapts automatically, a four-microphone beam that lifts the voice you face, and automatic DNN noise reduction that switches on by itself — at the top tier, always-on. If your recent Vivia or Nexia is fitted well and serving you, Sensia is an evolution, not an urgent upgrade.
Does ReSound Sensia have Auracast?
Yes, and it is active at launch rather than promised for later — across the receiver-in-canal and wireless custom styles, with the non-wireless CIC the exception. It also streams directly over Bluetooth LE Audio from compatible iPhones, iPads and Android phones. In India, though, there are almost no venues broadcasting over Auracast yet, so treat it as future-proofing rather than a daily feature today.
How long does the ReSound Sensia battery last?
The rechargeable microRIE style gives about 24 hours of typical use including some streaming, and up to roughly 30 hours without streaming — all-day even with the automatic denoising running. Sensia also comes in size 312 and size 13 battery RIEs for people who prefer disposable batteries, plus rechargeable custom styles.
Is ReSound Sensia good for noisy places?
That is what it is built for. The top tier (Sensia 9) runs automatic, always-on DNN noise reduction, the four-microphone beam focuses on the person you face, and the AcoustIQ classifier adjusts without you switching programs. The one honest caveat is that listening is personal — the only way to know it suits your ears is to trial it in your own noisy settings after a hearing test.
