Hearing test at home in Goa
Prudent Hearing now does home visits in Goa. An RCI-registered audiologist from our team comes to your parent's home, whether in Panaji, Margao, Mapusa or Vasco, with a portable, calibrated test kit. The 45-minute hearing test is free, the results are explained the same day, and if hearing aids will help, your parent can try them at home before deciding. Many Goan families book this for a parent while they live in Mumbai, Pune or abroad, so you can arrange everything on WhatsApp. We don't have a clinic in Goa: visits run on scheduled visit days.

Booking for a parent in Goa while you live elsewhere
Goa has long had one of India's oldest populations, and many parents live on their own while their children work in another city or country. You can arrange the whole visit without being there.
Someone at home helps
It helps if a relative, neighbour or caregiver is present, but it isn't required. The audiologist explains everything to your parent in simple terms.

Tell us when you book and we will call you after the visit to go through the result and the options, so you aren't relying on a second-hand summary.
No surprise charges
The test is free. If a visit charge applies to your parent's area, we confirm it on WhatsApp before booking, never on the day.

Goa is compact, so we plan each visit day around North or South Goa. Tell us the town or village and we confirm before booking.
Panaji (Panjim) & Porvorim
The capital and its surroundings, including Miramar, Dona Paula, Taleigao and Porvorim.
Mapusa & the North Goa coast
Mapusa, Aldona, Calangute, Candolim and nearby villages in Bardez.
Margao (Madgaon) & Salcete
Margao, Navelim, Benaulim, Colva and the rest of Salcete in South Goa.
Vasco da Gama & Ponda
Vasco, Dabolim and the Ponda side. Further villages can be added to a visit day on request.
What happens during the visit
The visit takes about an hour: the 45-minute test plus time to talk through the results and, if wanted, a trial.
Ear check
A look inside the ears first. Sometimes the problem is wax or an infection, and then we point you to an ENT doctor rather than an aid.

A full pure-tone test on portable calibrated equipment, set up in the quietest room of the house.

No pressure
If aids aren't needed yet, we say so. A hearing aid manages hearing loss rather than curing it, and we explain exactly what it can do.
Looking after hearing aids in Goa's climate
Sea air and months of humidity are hard on small electronics. A few habits keep aids working longer.
- Use a dry box or drying jar every night, especially through the monsoon.
- Take aids off before the beach, the pool or a shower. Even water-resistant aids are not made for swimming.
- Wipe away sweat and salt spray with a dry cloth each evening.
- Keep spare batteries in a sealed pouch; humidity shortens zinc-air battery life.
- If sound fades or crackles after a wet spell, it is usually moisture. Message us before it gets worse.

Hearing aid prices depend on the model, not the city. Genuine aids start at about Rs 11,000 MRP per ear, and we sell up to 30–50% below MRP.
