Is my parent's hearing aid still under warranty?+
It depends on when it was bought and the brand. New aids usually carry a manufacturer warranty of roughly one to three years, with entry models at the shorter end and premium or flagship models at the longer end. Check the warranty card and purchase bill for the exact date and terms. If you cannot find them, bring the aid in or call us with the model and rough purchase date, and we will look up where it stands. If we fitted the aid, your parent's records are already on file with us.
How much does an out-of-warranty hearing aid repair cost in India?+
It depends entirely on what has failed. A clean, wax filter, dome or tube change is often free at your fitting clinic and only a few hundred rupees elsewhere. A receiver, speaker or microphone replacement typically sits in a modest few-thousand-rupee band. Water damage or a full circuit fault usually means a manufacturer-level repair at the higher band, often a flat refurbishment charge that comes with a short fresh repair warranty. These are honest bands, not exact prices, so call +91 9429690093 for a firm quote on your parent's specific model before any work begins.
My parent's aid suddenly stopped working — is it always a fault?+
Often it is not a fault at all. The most common cause of a 'dead' aid is wax or moisture blocking the wax filter or receiver, which a clean and a fresh filter fixes in minutes. Before assuming an expensive repair, bring it in for a free check. Learning to change filters, domes and tubes at home prevents most of these panics, and we will happily show you how.
Should I repair the old aid or buy a new one?+
If the aid is under about five years old, well-fitted and still suits your parent's hearing, repair almost always wins on cost. Lean toward replacing when the aid is roughly seven or more years old, when repairs are becoming frequent, when parts are discontinued, or when your parent's hearing has changed enough that the old aid cannot keep up. A free hearing test tells you whether it is the aid or the hearing that has changed. We fit every major brand, so our advice follows the test, not a sales target.
Will my parent be without their hearing aid while it is repaired?+
Not if you ask for a loaner. Repairs can take a few days, or longer if the aid goes to the manufacturer, and that stretch of silence is hard for an older person who relies on the aid. Where one is available, we fit a loaner aid quickly programmed to your parent's hearing so they keep hearing throughout. Request it when you drop the aid off, and with our home visits across Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru, the drop-off, loaner fitting and collection can all happen at home.
Do you repair hearing aids that were bought elsewhere?+
Yes. Our RCI-registered audiologists have serviced aids since 2004 and work with all eight major brands: Signia, Phonak, Oticon, Widex, ReSound, Starkey, Unitron and Interton, whether or not you bought the aid from us. Bring it to our clinics in Pune (Viman Nagar), Delhi (Rohini or Green Park) or Bengaluru (Jayanagar), or book a home visit, and we will diagnose it and quote before doing any work.
