What the visit involves
The audiologist checks the ears first, because sometimes the problem is wax and the right next step is an ENT, not an aid. Then comes a full pure-tone test, a plain-language explanation of the audiogram, and, if aids will help, a trial with demo aids programmed to your parent's result. If aids aren't needed yet, we say so.

Thane's monsoon is long and wet, usually from June to September, and damp air is the most common reason aids start to crackle or fade.
- Put the aids in a drying box every night through the rains, and keep the charging contacts dry before docking a rechargeable aid.
- Water-resistant is not waterproof. Take the aids off before stepping out in a downpour, or keep them under a cap or hood.
- Wipe the aids with a soft dry cloth after a humid commute, paying attention to the microphone openings.
- If the sound goes weak or scratchy after a wet week, it is usually moisture. Message us before it turns into a repair.

Do you have a clinic in Thane?

Is the home hearing test free in Thane?
The 45-minute hearing test is free, whether or not your parent buys aids. If a visit charge applies to your area, we tell you the amount on WhatsApp before booking, never on the day.
My father can't manage the stairs. Can the test still be done at home?
Yes. The audiometer and demo aids are portable, so the test can be done in his own room, or at the bedside if he is unwell. Tell us when you book so we set aside extra time.
Can you service a hearing aid bought from a shop in Thane?
Usually, yes. We can re-test hearing, re-programme many models and clean or service the aid at home, even if it was bought elsewhere. Keep the aid, its charger and any old audiogram ready for the visit.
My parent has a CGHS card. Can the home visit help?
Yes, with the paperwork groundwork. The audiogram from the visit can go to the CGHS ENT, and we check any model against the 2026 rules: rechargeable, at least 8 channels and a 3-year comprehensive warranty. We are not CGHS-empanelled and don't process claims.
