Are hearing aid accessories GST-exempt?
No. Hearing aids themselves are GST-exempt in India, but accessories such as chargers and streamers are taxed separately.
Which battery size does my hearing aid use?
Zinc-air hearing aid batteries come in four standard sizes: 10, 312, 13 and 675. The size depends on your model. As a rough guide, size 10 lasts about 3 to 7 days, 312 about 5 to 10 days, 13 about 7 to 14 days and 675 about 9 to 20 days.
What does a TV streamer do?
It connects to your TV and sends the sound wirelessly to compatible hearing aids, so you hear the TV clearly at your own volume while others listen at theirs.
What is a remote microphone for hearing aids?
A clip-on or table-top microphone that sends a speaker's voice straight to your hearing aids. It helps most in restaurants, meetings, lectures and the car.
Do I need a drying box for my hearing aids?
It is worth having, especially in humid weather and the monsoon. Drying the aids overnight removes moisture that can muffle sound and damage the electronics.
How often should I change wax guards?
Whenever the sound becomes weak or muffled, which for many people is every two to four weeks.
