At a time that suits you
We fit around the household, and confirm a slot within a couple of working hours.
A home visit brings the hearing clinic to your door. An RCI-registered audiologist comes to you with portable, calibrated equipment, runs a proper hearing test at your kitchen table or bedside, explains the results in plain language, and advises on next steps. It is the same careful assessment we do in clinic, arranged for people who find the journey hard. The hearing test itself is free, and there is no obligation to buy anything.
We have offered home visits since 2004, alongside our clinics in Pune (Viman Nagar), Delhi (Rohini and Green Park) and Bengaluru (Jayanagar). Home visits suit elderly parents, anyone with limited mobility, people recovering from illness, and busy families who would simply rather test at home. To arrange one, call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093 and we will confirm a time that suits the household.
One honest note, the same one we give in clinic: hearing aids manage hearing loss, they do not cure it. That is exactly why the test comes first. A home visit tells you whether there is a loss, how much, and in which pitches, so any advice that follows is based on your ears rather than a guess. If a hearing aid would help, the audiologist explains your options without pressure.

- History chat, ear examination (otoscopy), audiometry and a speech check
- Results explained on the spot, with a written report to keep
- Honest, no-pressure advice on whether a hearing aid would help
- Hearing-aid fitting, programming and follow-up can be arranged at home too
- Ideal for seniors, limited mobility, or families short on time

What a home visit includes
A home visit covers the same core assessment you would get in clinic, using portable calibrated equipment. It starts with a short history chat about how your hearing feels day to day, any ringing, ear infections, medication or family history. Next comes otoscopy, where the audiologist looks inside your ear with a light to check for wax, fluid or a blockage. Then pure tone audiometry, where you respond to soft beeps across different pitches, one ear at a time, in the quietest room available. A short speech check follows, because hearing a sound and understanding a word are not the same thing. Finally the audiologist plots your results on an audiogram, explains what they mean, and leaves you a written report. If a hearing aid would help, fitting, programming and follow-up can be arranged at home as well.
Who a home visit is for
Home visits exist to remove the hardest part of getting help, which is often the journey itself. They suit elderly parents who find travel tiring, anyone with limited mobility or a health condition that makes leaving home difficult, people recovering from surgery or illness, and families who would simply rather do the first test in familiar surroundings. Testing at home is also calmer for someone with dementia or anxiety, who may respond better in a room they know. If you have noticed a parent turning the TV up, asking for repeats, or withdrawing from conversation, our guide to the signs you need a hearing test can help you decide whether it is time, and a home visit makes acting on it easy.
How the home hearing test works, step by step
Booking takes about a minute. Call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093, or use the form on this page, and tell us the area and a couple of times that suit. We confirm the visit and the audiologist arrives with everything needed. On the day, we pick the quietest room, run the history chat, otoscopy, audiometry and speech check described above, and keep it relaxed and unhurried. Results are explained while the audiologist is still with you, so questions get answered on the spot, and you keep a printed report. Nothing is decided the same day unless you want it to be. If a hearing aid suits the loss, the audiologist talks through the options and can arrange a proper fitting rather than leaving a device behind to try unsupervised.
What we can and cannot do at home
A full diagnostic hearing test, ear examination, results and advice all work well at home, and so does fitting and fine-tuning a hearing aid once the right one is chosen. Some specialised tests need clinic equipment, for example advanced tests such as BERA or ABR, VEMP and ECochG, or a sound-treated booth for the most precise measurements in a noisy environment. If your case needs any of those, the audiologist will explain why and arrange a clinic appointment. The aim is simple: do as much as possible at home, and only ask you to travel when the test genuinely requires it. For the full list of what each Prudent clinic offers, see our services.
Areas we cover, and how to book
We offer home visits in and around our clinic cities: Pune (from our Viman Nagar head office), Delhi (Rohini and Green Park) and Bengaluru (Jayanagar). If you are a little outside these areas, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you. To book a home visit, or to check availability for your area, call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093, or fill in the form on this page and we will call you back. You can also see our clinic addresses on the locations page or reach us any time through contact. Whether at home or in clinic, the hearing test is free and the advice is honest.
Frequently asked questions
Do you really come to my home for a hearing test?
Yes. An RCI-registered audiologist visits you with portable, calibrated equipment and runs a full hearing test at home: history, ear examination, pure-tone audiometry and a speech check. You get your results explained on the spot and a written report to keep. It is the same careful assessment we do in clinic, arranged for people who find the journey hard. Call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093 to book.
Is the home hearing test free?
The 45-minute hearing test is free, with no obligation to buy anything, just as it is in clinic. When you call to book, ask about home-visit availability for your area and we will confirm the details clearly before we come. If your hearing turns out to be fine, we tell you that and you are under no pressure to do anything further.
Which areas do you cover for home visits?
We offer home visits in and around our clinic cities: Pune (Viman Nagar), Delhi (Rohini and Green Park) and Bengaluru (Jayanagar). If you are just outside these areas, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you. Call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093 to check availability for your address.
Is a home hearing test as accurate as one in the clinic?
For a standard hearing test, yes. We use portable calibrated equipment and test in the quietest room available, which gives reliable results for most people. Some specialised tests, or the most precise measurements in a very noisy environment, need a sound-treated clinic booth. If your case needs that, the audiologist will explain why and arrange a clinic visit.
Can you fit a hearing aid at home too, not just test?
Yes. If the test shows a hearing aid would help and you choose one, fitting, programming and follow-up tuning can be arranged at home. We do not leave a device behind for you to try unsupervised, because a hearing aid needs to be set to your audiogram to do its job. The audiologist fits and adjusts it properly, whether at home or in clinic.
How do I book a home visit for my elderly parent?
Call or WhatsApp +91 9429690093, or fill in the form on this page, and tell us the area and a couple of times that suit the household. We confirm the visit and the audiologist comes to you. Testing at home is often calmer for an older person, especially anyone who finds travel tiring or feels anxious in unfamiliar places.
