Signia Fast P BTE

The Signia Fast P is the most affordable hearing aid we fit at Prudent Hearing Solutions: a plain, dependable behind-the-ear model from Signia (WS Audiology, Germany). It has a 4-channel processor, a directional microphone and a telecoil, and it runs on an easy-to-find size 13 battery. There is no Bluetooth, no app and nothing to charge, which is exactly why some families choose it for a parent who just wants a device that works.

What the Signia Fast P is

A straightforward BTE built for people who want hearing help without extra features. Here is what it actually does.

Style

Behind-the-ear (BTE)

The body sits behind the ear with a tube into the ear canal. Made by Signia (WS Audiology, Germany), the same group behind the wider Signia range.

Processing

4-channel processor

A simple 4-channel sound processor. It is a value model, so it does not have the many-channel processing of the higher IX and Xperience aids, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Microphone

Directional microphone

A directional microphone that helps favour the voice in front of you, which is useful in one-to-one conversation.

Telecoil

Telecoil for phones and loops

A built-in telecoil for landline and mobile phone use, and for loop systems you find in some halls and banks.

Power

Size 13 battery

Runs on a common size 13 disposable battery, easy to buy and change. There is no rechargeable option on this model.

Fit range

Fits mild to severe loss

Signia fits the Fast P for mild to severe hearing loss. Your audiogram at the free test tells us whether it is right for you.

Who it suits (and who should look elsewhere)

The Fast P is honest about what it is. It fits some people very well and is the wrong choice for others.

Good fit

A simple first pair

If this is your first hearing aid and you want to keep things simple and low-cost, the Fast P is an easy place to start.

Good fit

A parent who wants no fuss

For an elderly parent who wants simple controls and no phone pairing, a device with no app and nothing to charge can be a relief.

Good fit

A backup set

A sensible spare to keep at home in case your main aids are being serviced or repaired.

Look elsewhere

You want phone streaming

The Fast P has no Bluetooth and no app. If you want calls and music straight into your ears, look at the Pure Charge&Go 2IX or the BCT 7IX instead.

Look elsewhere

You want it hidden

A BTE sits behind the ear and is visible. If discretion matters, a custom in-ear aid like the Intuis 3 or Insio 1IX suits you better.

Look elsewhere

You are tired of changing batteries

This model uses disposable batteries. If you would rather drop the aid on a charger overnight, consider a rechargeable Charge&Go model.

How the Fast P compares in the Signia range

The Fast P sits at the bottom of what we fit on price and features. Here is how it lines up against the models people usually weigh against it.

Go custom

vs Signia Intuis 3 Custom

Same entry mindset, but moulded to sit inside the ear instead of behind it. Choose the Intuis 3 if being discreet matters more than the lowest price.

See the Intuis 3 Custom
Go rechargeable

vs Signia Pure Charge&Go 2IX

A big step up: rechargeable, phone streaming and far more processing. Choose the 2IX if you want modern features and no batteries to buy.

See the Pure Charge&Go 2IX
Go powerful

vs Signia Motion Charge&Go 5X

Still a BTE, but rechargeable, with much more power for stronger loss and up to 61 hours on a charge. Choose the Motion 5X if the Fast P is not powerful enough.

How we fit the Fast P at Prudent

A hearing aid manages hearing loss, it does not cure it, so the fitting matters as much as the device. Here is how we do it.

Step 1

Free 45-minute hearing test

Our RCI-registered audiologists (MASLP/BASLP) run a full 45-minute test at no cost to map your hearing loss.

Step 2

Programmed to your audiogram

We set the Fast P to your specific loss, not a factory default, and check it is powered correctly for your ears.

Step 3

Trial before you buy

You try the aid for real before you decide. If it is not right for you, we tell you honestly and suggest another model.

Step 4

Free lifetime aftercare

Fine-tuning, cleaning and checks are covered by free lifetime aftercare at our Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru clinics, with home visits available.
