Online Hearing Screening

Answer 8 simple questions about your everyday hearing. This free screening takes about two minutes and gives you an idea of whether a professional hearing test might help.

This is not a hearing test or a medical diagnosis. It is a screening questionnaire that highlights patterns. Only a qualified audiologist with calibrated equipment can measure your hearing. If you notice sudden hearing loss, ear pain, or discharge, see a doctor promptly.

Question 1 of 80 answered

Do you have trouble following conversations when two or more people are talking at the same time?

How this online hearing screening works

This screening uses eight questions drawn from established hearing self-assessment patterns used by audiologists worldwide. You rate each question from "Never" to "Almost always". Your answers are scored and compared against recognised thresholds to give a general indication of whether hearing difficulty may be present.

The screening runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent anywhere, no account is needed, and your answers are not stored.

What this screening cannot do

  • •It cannot measure your hearing thresholds (how soft a sound you can detect at each pitch).
  • •It cannot tell you the type of hearing loss (conductive, sensorineural, or mixed).
  • •It cannot replace a clinical pure tone audiometry (PTA) test.
  • •It is not suitable for children or infants — paediatric testing needs objective methods.

For an accurate assessment, book a free hearing test at a Prudent clinic or read our guide to how PTA testing works.

Common questions

Is this online hearing screening a real hearing test?
No. This is a questionnaire-based screening, not a diagnostic hearing test. It helps you understand whether your hearing may need professional attention. A real hearing test (pure tone audiometry) requires calibrated equipment in a sound-treated room, conducted by an audiologist. We offer this free at all Prudent clinics.
How accurate is an online hearing screening?
A questionnaire-based screening like this one identifies patterns that commonly indicate hearing difficulty, but it cannot measure your hearing thresholds or tell you the type or degree of any loss. Think of it as a helpful first step, not a diagnosis. For accurate results, you need a clinical hearing test.
What should I do after taking the screening?
If the screening suggests any level of difficulty, book a free 45-minute hearing test at a Prudent clinic. Even if it suggests low risk, a baseline test is useful so future changes can be measured against it. Call +91 9429690093 or book online.
Can I take this screening for someone else, like an elderly parent?
Yes. Answer based on what you have observed about their hearing. Many families use this screening as a starting point before suggesting a clinic visit. If the result suggests difficulty, our audiologists are experienced at working with reluctant patients and can help make the process comfortable.
Does this screening cost anything?
No. The screening is completely free and takes about two minutes. There is no registration, no email required, and no obligation.
