What the Signia Active Pro actually is

The Active Pro is Signia's take on a hearing aid that looks like a wireless earbud. It is an in-the-ear device from the German engineering heritage of the former Siemens hearing division, now part of WS Audiology. Here is what sits behind that earbud shell.

  The Active Pro is an in-the-ear aid shaped like a modern earphone. It uses ready-made soft click sleeves rather than a custom mould, so it can be fitted the same day you decide: no waiting for a build. It sits visibly in the ear like an earbud, which is exactly the point for people who dislike the classic behind-the-ear look.

• The platform

  German engineering, Xperience roots

  The original Active Pro launched on Signia's Xperience platform. It has since been succeeded by the Active Pro IX, which adds newer conversation-tracking processing, so the very newest chip is not in the original model. Both remain premium instant-fit aids built on the same Signia engineering.

  Active Pro handles your own voice on a separate track from everything else, so it sounds natural instead of boomy or 'in a barrel'. That hollow own-voice feeling is one of the most common reasons first-time users give up on hearing aids, and Signia tackles it head-on: a real strength of this range.

  Charge&Go rechargeable

  A sealed lithium-ion cell gives a full day on one charge, streaming included, and the aids drop into a slim portable charging case overnight. There are no tiny disposable batteries to open or replace each week: a genuine plus if dexterity or eyesight is a concern.

Where the Active Pro genuinely shines

These are the things the Active Pro does well enough that we actively recommend it to the right patient.

  It does not look like a hearing aid

  For a lot of people the biggest barrier is the stigma, not the price. The earbud shape reads as a normal wireless earphone, which is why it lands so well with first-time users and with working, tech-forward adults who have quietly put off getting help.

  Same-day, instant fit

  Because it uses ready-made sleeves, there are no ear impressions and no wait for a custom build. In practice you can be tested, fitted and walk out hearing better the same visit: useful if you have travelled to the clinic or simply do not want the delay.

  Own Voice Processing plus Signia's premium sound processing means speech stays clear and your own voice stays natural. For a small in-ear device, the sound quality is a step above what most people expect from something this discreet.

  Bluetooth streaming and app control

  You can stream calls, music and podcasts from an iPhone and from compatible Android phones straight into your ears, and adjust volume or programs quietly from the Signia app. The built-in AI Assistant handles small tweaks without a clinic visit, and TV audio streams through a Signia StreamLine accessory.

Honest limitations, who it is not the best fit for

Every hearing aid trades something away, and the Active Pro is no exception. These are the reasons we sometimes steer a patient towards a different Signia model or a different brand entirely.

• Power level

  Not for severe-to-profound loss

  The instant-fit earbud shell suits mild to moderately-severe loss, roughly up to the 70-80 dB range with the right sleeve. If your loss is severe or profound, a behind-the-ear aid such as Signia's Motion Charge&Go can deliver more clean, feedback-free power. Your audiogram decides this, not the marketing.

• Comfort

  Visible, and it can feel plugged

  It sits in the ear like an earbud, so it is not invisible, and because it fills the canal some people feel occluded or 'blocked up', especially in the first weeks. If a truly hidden aid matters most to you, a near-invisible Silk CIC or a custom Insio is more discreet.

• Fit

  Ready-made sleeves, not a custom mould

  The same instant fit that makes it convenient means retention depends on your ear shape. Very small, wide or unusually shaped canals may not hold it securely, in which case a custom-moulded aid is the more reliable choice. This is exactly what a trial is for.

• Cost & battery

  Rechargeable only, and premium-priced

  There is no disposable-battery fallback if you forget to charge overnight, and the lithium-ion cell ages over the years and eventually needs a service replacement. It also sits at the premium end. If budget is the priority, Signia's Orion or Intuis lines cost far less.

Signia Active Pro price in India

The original Active Pro is now a previous-generation model, so you may not see that exact name on a current price list: it has largely been replaced by the Active Pro IX. In our own Signia list the current Active Pro IX comes as a pair (a 'Kit') at an MRP of about ₹3,24,990 for the two aids, with the step-down Active IX pair at about ₹1,59,990.

These are manufacturer MRPs; Prudent sells genuine Signia up to 20-30% below MRP, so your real price lands well under those figures. Hearing aids are GST-exempt in India and we offer 0% EMI. We only quote your exact price after your hearing test, once we know the technology level you actually need.

  The Active Pro is Signia's top instant-fit level, with more processing channels and better performance in noise than the standard Active. As a premium aid its MRP is high (the current Active Pro IX pair is listed around ₹3,24,990) so treat it as a premium, not a budget, choice.

• 20-30% off MRP

  Your price at Prudent

  We sell genuine, sealed Signia units with full manufacturer warranty at up to 20-30% below MRP. Hearing aids carry no GST in India, and 0% EMI is available to spread the cost. The exact figure depends on the model and technology level recommended for you, confirmed at your appointment.
