RIC - Receiver-in-Canal
Discreet, comfortable and the most common modern choice. Suits mild to severe loss and is easy for arthritic fingers to handle.
BTE - Behind-the-Ear
The most powerful and robust option, suited to severe loss. Larger controls make it the easiest for a parent with shaky hands or weak eyesight.
CIC - Completely-in-Canal
Sits inside the ear canal and is barely visible - good for a parent who is self-conscious about being seen wearing a hearing aid.
IIC - Invisible-in-Canal
The smallest style, seated deep in the canal so it is effectively invisible. Best for mild to moderate loss and good dexterity.

Our audiologist starts with the free 45-minute hearing test on portable equipment, then programmes each device to your parent's exact hearing profile and fine-tunes it against the sounds of their own home. The home trial period explained
You should never have to commit before your parent knows the device helps. Our try-before-you-buy trial lets them wear the fitted hearing aids through ordinary days - meals, TV, phone calls, visitors - so the decision is based on real life, not a showroom minute. Be clear on one thing: a hearing aid manages hearing loss and makes speech easier to follow; it does not cure or reverse the loss itself.

Yes, and it is very common. A relaxed home test often works better than a clinic visit because there is no pressure - your parent simply hears the difference at their own dinner table and TV, which is far more convincing than being told they have a problem.
Will a hearing aid fix my parent's hearing completely?
No hearing aid cures or reverses hearing loss - it manages it by making speech and everyday sounds easier to follow. Setting realistic expectations during the home trial is the single biggest factor in whether your parent keeps wearing it.

How long does the first home appointment take?
