A proper diagnosis needs a full hearing test in a quiet, sound-treated room, with results you can keep. Be wary of a chemist counter or a stall that hands you a cheap amplifier without testing your ears at all.
A genuine trial before you buy
You should be able to wear the aid in real listening situations before you pay for it. Your ears need a few days to judge. Any clinic confident in the fit will let you try first.
Transparent, written pricing
Ask for the price in writing, model by model. Hearing aids are GST-exempt in India, and street prices usually sit below the printed MRP. A clear quote lets you compare fairly.
After-sales and programming support
A hearing aid needs fine-tuning over weeks and re-programming over years. Check that the clinic offers follow-up, cleaning, and reprogramming, and ask whether it is free.

Ultra-premium: ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,00,000 per ear
