Oticon Siya ITE hearing aid

The Oticon Siya ITE is the custom, made-to-measure in-the-ear version of Oticon's essential Siya range — a single unit moulded to fill the bowl of your ear, with nothing sitting behind it. It suits someone with mild to moderate hearing loss who wants a discreet, one-piece aid and Oticon's natural, open style of sound. It is now an older, largely superseded model, so call us on +91 9429690093 and we will tell you honestly what is still available and whether a current-generation Oticon would serve you better.

What the Oticon Siya ITE is

The Siya ITE is the in-the-ear member of Oticon's Siya family. Instead of a receiver behind your ear, the whole aid is built into a shell that a lab moulds from an impression of your own ear. Here is the honest, category-level picture — we do not invent spec numbers or channel counts for an older model.

Form factor

Custom in-the-ear (ITE)

Made to order from an impression of your ear. One piece, nothing behind the ear, filling the outer bowl. Easy to insert and handle, with room for a slightly larger battery and controls than a tiny in-canal aid.

Platform & tier

Essential Siya range (Velox S)

Siya was Oticon's essential-to-mid range, built on the Velox S platform — the same platform generation as the premium Opn S of its era. Its whole point was bringing Oticon's signature open sound down to a friendlier price tier, below the flagship Opn family.

Power

Mild to moderate loss

A custom in-the-ear aid like this generally suits mild to moderate hearing loss, and up to moderately-severe depending on the shell size and power selected. Severe-to-profound loss needs a power behind-the-ear instead.

Battery

Disposable battery, not rechargeable

The Siya custom line runs on a disposable zinc-air cell — there is no rechargeable option in this model. The exact battery size depends on how large the shell is, which your audiologist confirms at the fitting.

Connectivity

Limited by today's standards

Wireless features on this generation were limited, and on a custom in-the-ear shell more limited still — there is far less room for antennas than on a behind-the-ear model, and some custom builds carried no wireless at all. It does not offer the universal, cross-platform Bluetooth streaming and full app control that current aids do. If hands-free calls, direct phone streaming and app fine-tuning matter to you, a newer Oticon suits better — tell us the exact unit and we will confirm what it can do.

Standout feature

OpenSound Navigator

Siya's headline was bringing Oticon's open, 360-degree soundscape into an essential aid — keeping you aware of sound all around rather than narrowing you to one direction. Tinnitus SoundSupport relief sounds were also available on the range.

Who the Siya ITE suits, and who should look elsewhere

The badge on a hearing aid matters far less than whether the style and power match your ears and your day. Here is where the Siya ITE fits honestly, and where it does not.

Likely a good fit

You want a custom in-the-ear aid, kept simple

You have mild to moderate loss, you would rather have a single unit that sits in your ear with nothing behind it, and you like Oticon's natural, open sound without needing the newest technology. A legacy essential aid, fitted well, can still serve you honestly.

Look elsewhere

You have severe or profound loss

A small in-the-ear shell can only deliver so much clean power. Severe-to-profound loss is better served by a power behind-the-ear such as the Oticon Xceed, which we can show you at the same appointment.

Look elsewhere

You want rechargeable, streaming or an app

If a rechargeable battery, reliable Bluetooth streaming and phone-app control are on your wishlist, this older model will disappoint. A current custom aid like the Oticon Own, or a rechargeable receiver-in-canal, is the better call.

Worth discussing

You want near-invisible

A full in-the-ear shell is discreet but not invisible. If you want the smallest possible fit, a completely-in-canal or invisible custom may suit better — we will show the options and let the size of your ear canal decide what is realistic.

Price and honest value

We do not have a current published price for the Oticon Siya ITE, and we will not invent one. It is an older, largely discontinued model, so what it costs depends entirely on whether genuine stock is still available when you ask. Call +91 9429690093 and we will tell you honestly what is possible today — including whether a current-generation aid gives you more for a similar spend.

GST-exempt

No GST on hearing aids

Hearing aids are exempt from GST in India, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay — whichever model you end up choosing.

Up to 30-50% off

Discount off manufacturer MRP

Where a model is available new, we sell up to 30-50% below the manufacturer's MRP. For a legacy aid we will always be straight about whether that is genuinely good value against a newer model.

0% EMI

Spread the cost

0% EMI is available so a good pair is manageable month to month, with no interest added on top.

The honest steer

Consider the current equivalent

The modern successor to a custom essential aid like this is the Oticon Own — a made-to-measure in-the-ear aid that carries Oticon's on-board Deep Neural Network. For tighter budgets, Oticon Zircon and Jet are strong current value. We would rather fit you a current model with full warranty and support than sell old stock for its own sake.

How we fit the Oticon Siya ITE at Prudent

A custom in-the-ear aid lives or dies on the fitting, because the shell is moulded to your ear and the sound is programmed to your exact hearing. A hearing aid manages hearing loss; it does not cure it. So the test, the fit and the follow-up decide how well you actually hear.

Step 1

Free 45-minute hearing test

An RCI-registered audiologist tests your hearing, explains your audiogram in plain language, and only then talks about whether a custom in-the-ear aid — this one or a newer one — is right for you. There is no pressure to buy.

Step 2

Ear impression and real-ear verification

For a custom aid we take an impression of your ear for the shell, then, once it is programmed, we confirm it with real-ear measurement — a tiny probe microphone reads the actual sound level in your canal, so we know you are getting your prescribed volume at every pitch rather than a factory default.

Step 3

A real trial before you commit

You try the recommended aid in real listening — conversation, a busy room — before you decide. Hearing the difference for yourself matters far more than any spec sheet, and doubly so with an older model.

Step 4

Free lifetime programming and aftercare

Your hearing changes over time. We re-tune, clean and service your aid for the life of the device at our clinics in Pune (Viman Nagar), Delhi (Rohini and Green Park) and Bengaluru (Jayanagar), with home visits around those cities.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Oticon Siya ITE still available in India?

It is an older, largely superseded model, so availability is limited. Some genuine stock may still be sourced, but Oticon has moved on to newer platforms. Call us on +91 9429690093 and we will tell you honestly whether a Siya ITE can still be fitted, or whether a current custom aid like the Oticon Own is the sensible choice.

How much does the Oticon Siya ITE cost?

We do not publish a price for it, because it is a legacy model and the cost depends entirely on whether genuine stock is available when you ask. We will not invent a figure. What we can promise is that hearing aids are GST-exempt in India, that any current model we fit is up to 30-50% off the manufacturer's MRP, and that 0% EMI is available. Tell us your budget and we will give you a straight answer at your appointment.

What kind of hearing loss is the Siya ITE for?

As a custom in-the-ear aid it generally suits mild to moderate hearing loss, and up to moderately-severe depending on the shell size and power selected. If your test shows severe-to-profound loss, a power behind-the-ear such as the Oticon Xceed will serve you far better. The right level is confirmed from your audiogram at the free hearing test, not from a page.

Is the Oticon Siya ITE rechargeable, and does it stream to my phone?

No — the Siya custom line runs on a disposable battery, with no rechargeable option. Its wireless features were limited for the time, and on a custom in-the-ear shell more limited still, so it does not match the universal Bluetooth streaming and full app control that are standard on current aids. If rechargeability, streaming and an app matter to you, a newer Oticon is a better fit.

What is the modern equivalent of the Siya ITE?

For a custom in-the-ear aid, the current successor is the Oticon Own, which carries Oticon's on-board Deep Neural Network in a made-to-measure shell. If value is the priority, Oticon Zircon and Jet are strong current choices. We will show you the right current equivalent alongside the Siya ITE at your appointment so you can compare fairly.

Can I try it before buying, and is it genuine with warranty?

Yes to the trial — after a free hearing test you try the recommended aid in real listening before you decide. On warranty: where genuine new stock is available it comes sealed with the applicable manufacturer warranty, fitted by an RCI-registered audiologist and backed by free lifetime programming. If only limited or older stock exists, we will say so plainly and steer you to a current model rather than sell old stock for its own sake.

Not sure the Siya ITE is still the right buy?

Neither are we, until we have seen your hearing. Book a free 45-minute test with an RCI-registered audiologist in Pune, Delhi or Bengaluru — or ask for a home visit — and we will tell you honestly whether the Oticon Siya ITE, a current Oticon custom aid, or something else altogether fits you best.
