What the Oticon Siya ITE is
The Siya ITE is the in-the-ear member of Oticon's Siya family. Instead of a receiver behind your ear, the whole aid is built into a shell that a lab moulds from an impression of your own ear. Here is the honest, category-level picture — we do not invent spec numbers or channel counts for an older model.
Essential Siya range (Velox S)
Siya was Oticon's essential-to-mid range, built on the Velox S platform — the same platform generation as the premium Opn S of its era. Its whole point was bringing Oticon's signature open sound down to a friendlier price tier, below the flagship Opn family.
Mild to moderate loss
A custom in-the-ear aid like this generally suits mild to moderate hearing loss, and up to moderately-severe depending on the shell size and power selected. Severe-to-profound loss needs a power behind-the-ear instead.
Disposable battery, not rechargeable
The Siya custom line runs on a disposable zinc-air cell — there is no rechargeable option in this model. The exact battery size depends on how large the shell is, which your audiologist confirms at the fitting.
Limited by today's standards
Wireless features on this generation were limited, and on a custom in-the-ear shell more limited still — there is far less room for antennas than on a behind-the-ear model, and some custom builds carried no wireless at all. It does not offer the universal, cross-platform Bluetooth streaming and full app control that current aids do. If hands-free calls, direct phone streaming and app fine-tuning matter to you, a newer Oticon suits better — tell us the exact unit and we will confirm what it can do.

Siya's headline was bringing Oticon's open, 360-degree soundscape into an essential aid — keeping you aware of sound all around rather than narrowing you to one direction. Tinnitus SoundSupport relief sounds were also available on the range.

You want a custom in-the-ear aid, kept simple
You have mild to moderate loss, you would rather have a single unit that sits in your ear with nothing behind it, and you like Oticon's natural, open sound without needing the newest technology. A legacy essential aid, fitted well, can still serve you honestly.
You have severe or profound loss
A small in-the-ear shell can only deliver so much clean power. Severe-to-profound loss is better served by a power behind-the-ear such as the Oticon Xceed, which we can show you at the same appointment.
You want rechargeable, streaming or an app
If a rechargeable battery, reliable Bluetooth streaming and phone-app control are on your wishlist, this older model will disappoint. A current custom aid like the Oticon Own, or a rechargeable receiver-in-canal, is the better call.
You want near-invisible
A full in-the-ear shell is discreet but not invisible. If you want the smallest possible fit, a completely-in-canal or invisible custom may suit better — we will show the options and let the size of your ear canal decide what is realistic.

We do not have a current published price for the Oticon Siya ITE, and we will not invent one. It is an older, largely discontinued model, so what it costs depends entirely on whether genuine stock is still available when you ask. How we fit the Oticon Siya ITE at Prudent
A custom in-the-ear aid lives or dies on the fitting, because the shell is moulded to your ear and the sound is programmed to your exact hearing. A hearing aid manages hearing loss; it does not cure it. So the test, the fit and the follow-up decide how well you actually hear.

For a custom aid we take an impression of your ear for the shell, then, once it is programmed, we confirm it with real-ear measurement — a tiny probe microphone reads the actual sound level in your canal, so we know you are getting your prescribed volume at every pitch rather than a factory default.

You try the recommended aid in real listening — conversation, a busy room — before you decide. Hearing the difference for yourself matters far more than any spec sheet, and doubly so with an older model.

Can I try it before buying, and is it genuine with warranty?
Yes to the trial — after a free hearing test you try the recommended aid in real listening before you decide. On warranty: where genuine new stock is available it comes sealed with the applicable manufacturer warranty, fitted by an RCI-registered audiologist and backed by free lifetime programming. If only limited or older stock exists, we will say so plainly and steer you to a current model rather than sell old stock for its own sake.
